American Cities for Writers

So today I read an article about great cities in the US for writers to live in. Quite a good thing to know. So just note down here.

1/ Chicago: great bookstores, art and architecture, affordable places to live, universities, other writers.

2/ Charleston: a beautiful, laid back city.

3/ Austin, TX: spacious, empty western land.

4/ Bellingham, WA: (never heard of it), small cozy town, does rain a lot though.

5/ Asheville, NC: quiet, nice bookstores, lovely coffee shops, all about culture.

6/ Washington: Politics and Prose bookstore (one of the best), beautiful neighborhood, many colleges.

7/ Seattle: not sure why.

8/ Portland: Salt Institute.

9/ Savannah: seems like a nice town to me.

10/ Pittsburgh: ah, they have a fully funded MFA program in University of Pittsburgh. Came across their website today. Can be a cool place. Indie bookstores.

11/ Jersey, NJ: Elizabeth Gilbert is living here with her girlfriend, after leaving her husband who featured in the memoir Eat, Love, Pray. May come to have a drink on the porch of her house.

Yeah I'm dreaming of a nice quiet town with beautiful scenery, mountain, forests and waterfalls to escape when in need, and write my English books while living there.
